Dr. Ann Grimwood, ND

Naturopathic doctor

Dr. Ann Grimwood is a dedicated naturopathic doctor with a passion for fostering inclusive, culturally competent healthcare and advancing the naturopathic profession. With over a decade of experience in clinical practice and academia, Dr. Grimwood has a proven track record in teaching, clinical supervision, and community-based healthcare.

After earning her Doctor of Naturopathy at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) Toronto Campus in 2014, Dr. Grimwood moved to Vancouver to complete a 2-year Clinical Residency at CCNM’s Boucher Campus where she later served as Adjunct Faculty member and Associate Professor. During her time at Boucher, Dr. Grimwood developed and instructed a course on health equity, cultural competency, and trauma-informed care. Additionally, she was a lecturer, curriculum developer, and course coordinator for the clinical sciences program, and an integral member of the clinical education team, overseeing student competencies in intravenous therapy, physical exams (including pelvic & pap exams), and lab diagnosis. As a Clinical Supervisor, she mentored students at various community health clinics, including the Vancouver Women’s Health Collective and Katzie First Nation, while supporting patient-centered care through naturopathic modalities such as lifestyle counseling, nutrition, and acupuncture.

Dr. Grimwood is deeply committed to community service, having contributed to global health initiatives in Nicaragua as a volunteer naturopathic doctor and Vice President of Natural Doctors International. She has also demonstrated leadership through her role as a Board Director for the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors since 2020.

Her clinical focus includes women’s health, mental health, chronic disease management, and 2SLGBTQIA+ care with an emphasis on evidence-based practices and patient autonomy. Dr. Grimwood is dedicated to creating a safe, trusting environment for her patients, prioritizing active listening, empathy, and informed decision-making.

A licensed Naturopathic Doctor in Ontario, she is certified in prescriptive authority, and continually engages in professional development, including courses on unconscious bias in medicine and Indigenous cultural safety. Outside of her professional life, Dr. Grimwood enjoys outdoor activities such as cycling, camping, canoeing, and hiking with her two golden retrievers.

Dr. Grimwood’s diverse experience, strong leadership, and commitment to health equity make her a respected figure in the naturopathic community and an advocate for accessible, compassionate healthcare.

Dr. Grimwood is a member, in good standing, with the College of Naturopaths Of Ontario and maintains professional memberships with the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors.
