Lab Tests
Your health matters
Lab testing is an important tool in understanding the whole person and symptom presentation. Dr. Lauren most often uses traditional blood work as her primary tool to investigate health concerns.
Below are a list of common comprehensive lab tests that may also be used on an as needed basis:
Digestion
GI-360
GI-360 provides clinical information for 3 main gastrointestinal functional areas: digestion/absorption; inflammation/immunology and gut microbiome. It assesses the amount of good, pathogenic and commensal bacteria in our digestive system. It measures factors that may be hindering digestion and absorption. This test is used for an in-depth look into digestive health and is used to guide targeted treatment.
SIBO
Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) symptoms can mimic IBS and food sensitivities, IBD and rosacea. This breath test evaluates location, severity and types of gas found in the small intestine over a period of 3 hours
IgG Food Sensitivity Testing
Many conditions are associated with food sensitivities – Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), migraines, weight gain, eczema and psoriasis. Different from IgE (immediate, anaphylactic food allergies), food sensitivities can take hours or days to develop. IgG antibodies can attach themselves to the antigen in food and create an antibody-antigen complex. When present in high numbers these complexes build up and can cause inflammation. Discovering, and eliminating food sensitivities can help heal and reduce symptoms.
Hormones
Salivary Hormone Testing
A hormone test that evaluates levels through saliva to identify bio-available hormone levels in tissue. Estrogen, Progesterone, Testosterone, DHEA, and Cortisol are tested with additional markers added as required. Available to both men and women.
DUTCH Complete™
The DUTCH test is a comprehensive look at hormones and their broken down metabolites, through urine. It includes an extensive profile of sex and adrenal hormones, and their metabolites to identify symptoms of hormonal imbalances. Daily free cortisol patterns are included to provide insight into adrenal function. Available to both men and women.
Wellness
Organic Acids Test (OAT)
Organic acids are chemical compounds that are products of metabolism and excreted through the urine. The OAT test looks at 75 markers of overall health. The test includes markers for vitamin and mineral levels, oxidative stress, neurotransmitter levels and oxalates.
